I am grateful for these few short weeks of fall leaves: red, gold, pale pale yellow, deep green, shocking orange, burnt umber. They are a constant reminder of the months and months of bare branches and leaden skies just around the corner, but for today, the world is clothed in a fiery rainbow. It makes me happy and melancholy in the same breath.
