this is the much-belated gift for baby andrew. i had intended to name him after Ketchikan, Alaska, since that’s where I was when I began knitting him. But then I mentioned that he was constructed in a manner such that limbs, if severed in the course of normal wear-and-tear such that a teddy bear might expect to endure in the first years of a child’s life, could be sewn back on without the rest of the bear unraveling. so then Grant decided he should be named Voltron for his ability to dis- and reassemble. who am I to argue?
